We were talking at the last book club meeting about feminism in teen literature. It turns out that ALA's Social Responsibility Round Table has a Feminist Task Force, part of which is the Amelia Bloomer Project. This project celebrates books in which women and girls overcome "the obstacles of intersecting forces of race, gender, and class, actively shaping their destinies." The 2011 list of books is at:
